I don't know if it is was brisk air pumping adrenaline into his veins or all the newness that was to be discovered by his curious mind but my little man was zero to sixty the entire morning. It is kind of hard not to get caught up in his delight; his happiness was infectious.
Jackson barreled down the cobblestone paths leading us from animal to animal. He stopped only to listen to Dada explain each exhibit and point out monkeys that were hiding from taps on the glass. The macaws squawked back, repeating his gibberish and the goats swarmed demanding food.
So maybe my little man is a wild animal even when he is not at the zoo?

Hee! Love it, lady! I have my own 'lil Wild Things and can *so* relate! :)
ReplyDeleteWe just went to the zoo this weekend and had a very similar experience! These boys...! ;)
ReplyDeleteAt least at the zoo it is ok when they run around screaming, right?
DeleteAw he's so big now!! When Monkey went to a zoo recently and was allowed into the kangaroo paddock, he chased them around!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with Memories Captured!
They had a petting zoo with pigs and goats and things. The goats were wrestling for food and Jackson kept trying to get down and grab their horns! What a fearless little man.
DeleteI'm surprised Monkey didn't swing from the vines??!!
I love how you wrote he's a handful! Great pictures. I miss the zoo, we used to go all the time when we lived in Germany, here it's just too far away to go very often.
ReplyDeleteWhere in Germany are you from? My mom is from Frankfurt and I was born in Irelanging.
DeleteSam it called Erlangen, but there is Robert born, you were born in Bad Nauheim. MIss you and love you your aunt from GErmany
DeleteI love taking my boys to the zoo! We have a small local one that's perfect for just an hour or two, or a much bigger one great for all morning. They definitely get as keyed up as your little man. I love that last picture, too. He's cute but you look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOur zoo is on the smaller side but it's very nice. I wish they had elephants and lions and things...
DeleteThanks for the compliment! I love that picture too!
I think we all have our 'wild' sides to things ;) You have a beautiful boy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to capture the memories of that day! I think going to the zoo may be one of our top things to do together as a family. Your son is one of the cutest wild animals I have ever seen. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe zoo is the perfect place to be a little wild animal, at least he fit right in ;) Such cute pictures. It is always so fun to take the kids to the zoo and show them all of the exciting animals.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you and him! The zoo is always a great place for young kiddos! ...and young at heart adults too!
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time - sweet animal you have there!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do think they are all (mine included) little monkeys all the time! We got talked at by the Macaw the last time we were at the zoo. SO cool. First time it's ever happened to us!
ReplyDeleteThe Macaw kept saying hello and Jackson kept looking around for people haha
DeleteWhat a great picture! Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were talking about the kid being a wild animal which I can completely relate to since I live with three wild animal kids! Looks like a fun day! Can't wait to make a trip to the zoo.
ReplyDeleteYup I was! Little man is a monkey sometimes! He fit right in at the zoo.
DeleteThe zoo is always so fun!
ReplyDeleteHehe, LOVE the wild animal theme! Sometimes, I think my little boy is a wild animal too.
ReplyDeleteAwww looks like he had so much fun at the zoo...love his little hat!
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is priceless!!! He looks like a little man. Their enthusiasm is totally infectious...it's like their laughs make YOU laugh!
ReplyDeleteThe zoo is always a great place to take the little ones. Although it's true, sometimes you can't tell whether the wild animals are the ones inside or outside the cages!
ReplyDeleteOur daughters love the Zoo too and it's a perfect space to let them run wild. :) Last year, we stopped at the Zoo near the end of a long road trip just to let them have that space to stretch their legs. Recently, we visited the Puerto Vallarta Zoo, which has one path through the zoo with waist-high walls on either side, so it was easier to chase our girls along and make sure we'd seen all the animals (rather than paths all over the place).
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I hope to take LC to the zoo tomorrow - last time she mostly slept through everything so I hope my new toddler will be more enthused.
ReplyDeleteNow that she's walking I bet she'll love it!
DeleteWhat a cutie!!! I love going to the zoo. Looks like your little wild animal loved it too.
